Before the AOL news dropped, although, all the deal-makers were in attendance (hmm…), The Huffington Post hosted its “Game Changers 2010″ event at Skylight Soho against a backdrop that could only have come from the massively creative brain of David Stark.

The design was so impressive that the Huff Po blogged about it and posted pics of the design on its site, moving well beyond the typical step-and-repeat photos we normally see from events despite the A-List attendees.  We didn’t have a blog back then, so like David Stark just did, we are going to “flashback” to late 2010 when our blog was merely a pesky item on a bottomless To-Do list…

To quote David Stark Sketchbook,

“The event honored the 100 innovators in 12 categories ranging from the world of style to the universe of politics, from the green space to education. Our event was filled with admirable folks — people like Mayor Bloomberg, Anderson Cooper, Tom Colicchio, Sean Penn, Paulina Porizkova, and Betheny Frankel to name a few of the hundreds in attendance. We created an environment for the group, inspired by Dan Flavin where a black void was filled with neon flash. Welded steel sculptures represented each of the award categories while projections of ever changing names and other imagery punctuated the space on angled walls and on an entry vignette where 100 silhouettes were grouped to create the perfect “class photo.” As you toured the space at Skylight Soho, surprises were revealed at every turn — not only within our visuals, but WHO you might run into.”

David Stark, you are a Game Changer.  Thank you for innovating these crazy things that transform our spaces so fully and intensely.
