Berkeley Carroll's Stroke of Midnight Ball at Skylight One Hanson

The Berkeley Carroll School is not just one of the most prestigious private schools in the city, it is one of the most prestigious private schools in the country, so we were honored to host this Brooklyn-based institution at Skylight One Hanson for their annual Gala and Auction.  Riffing off our infamous clocktower, “The Stroke of Midnight Ball” was a phenomenon to behold.  Working tirelessly for close to a year, co-chairs Patrick Boylan & Maureen Swetow created a magical evening for parents and board members. Guests checked in using our favorite new event technology, BidPal, an ipad that serves as a wireless bidding device that allows guests to actually enjoy the party while placing bids on silent auction items.  Shaun Roberts and our friends at Great Performances produced a movable feast of a buffet that enabled guests to mingle across all levels while enjoying their dinner. Richard Tatum of L & M went above and beyond with his architectural lighting and dramatic auction lighting to astound a crowd that had seen it all.  The highlight of the evening, the live auction, demonstrated the passionate commitment Berkeley Carroll’s community has to their school.  An impressive amount of money was raised on auction items that included a private dinner for ten cooked by Mario Batali, a parent of the school, for $62,000!   The party continued into the wee hours in the Vault where guests let their hair down to a DJ set in our subterranean space.
